Storage

Storage holds all your info, and it's what you use when you want to access a file after closing it and shutting your PC down. Your operating system, pictures, videos, music, documents, and other important papers are all stored on storage. However, storage comes in different sizes, or how much they can hold, as well as different types, like flash or mechanical. So what's best for you?

Hard drives can hold a lot of data for not a lot of money. They're the slowest type we offer, but small files and even most older games work perfectly fine on a hard drive. Hard drives don't like shock damage, but you can delete and save files to them over and over without many issues.

Solid state drives (both SATA3 and M.2) cost a bit more than hard drives, but are still affordable. They're much faster, and it is recommended to include at least one in your system. Newer games, productivity programs, and other programs you use often will load faster on solid state drives. They can also survive being dropped on the ground. Their biggest flaw is that they die faster if you save and delete files off them often, so for those instances, we recommend hard drives. SATA3 SSDs mount to the case and use cables to connect to the motherboard. M.2 SSDs connect directly to the motherboard, and are usually faster.

As you can see, we recommend a large capacity hard drive for most of your files, with an M.2 SSD for the operating system and other important startup programs, but how we configure your storage mediums (and what you choose to use) is up to you!
